JCII is aiming at the sustainable development of society by
collaborative efforts of industry and academia.
It was recognized by leaders of industry and academia that
the Japanese chemical industry needs to have some innovative
measure to keep sustainable development of society in the 21st
century. JCII was founded on March 2, 1998 by reorganizing former
Japan High Polymer Center and with the membership of more than
a hundred leading companies and related associations involved
in the development and implementation of chemical science and
technology.
